Quest For a Cure Epstein Barr Virus

I was diagnosed with Epstein Bar Virus about a week ago. I didn’t know too much about it and neither did my dr. She shrugged her shoulders, after giving me my diagnosis, and told me she would email me some info from the internet. Here’s the website she referred me to: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/diseases/ebv.htm

To be honest, I really do not like going to the doctor, I prefer trying all the natural remedies first and then when all my resources have been exhausted then I will go with much hesitation and a little kicking and digging in my heals.

;For years I have been having bouts of extreme tiredness and exhaustion right after an illness. It seemed my immune system just wasn’t able to kick in and restore my body to it’s normal vigor and resilience. So I just kept going until this last Nov when I got Bronchitis and after two months was still not better.

Some symptoms that I are or have experienced are: fatigue, weak, joint pain (I thought I just had bad knees), stomach ulcers, acid reflux, stomach pain, lots of congestion, and sinus problems.

So after my diagnosis I decide to go on a quest to get better, it was obvious I was on my own with this one. I had heard of a couple cleanses and natural diet plans. I felt a little perplexed and confused on what path to take, so I began to pray to know what was the right path for my particular situation and specific diet that would heal my body. After I had prayed my sister, Susan, called and told me about again about the juice fast. There is a movie on Netflix she told me to watched called “Fat, Sick, and Nearly dead”. After watching the movie and doing some more research on the computer I decided this is the what I need to do. The next question I had was how long do this juice fast? I have decided to go for two weeks, and see how I feel.

I decided to blog my progress and hopefully inspire others who may have health issues. I guess it’s time to grow up and eat like my grandpa Lybbert use to eat. I admire him and all the energy he had, he was always working out on some kind of exercise equipment. Amazingly, he was doing one handed push ups into his 90’s. His example is remembered today and I hope to pass it on to my children.

Ok, so here it goes

  2. Dear Theresa,
I am sorry to read this, but I KNOW you will pull thru! I've heard the words, but don't yet know EB. I will do some research. But here is what I do know....
First, my husband had what appears to be the same illness based on symptoms. He went to naturopath and followed, in a nutshell, a regimen of probiotics. He still deals with reflux at night, but sleeps on 2 pillows now which helps a ton. It took him about 1 yr to fully recover. The illness really kicked him in the shorts!
Second, I have seen the movie you mentioned. It was truly amazing and we followed the plan, strictly for 2 weeks, and then b/c we missed chewing food, we added salads back in. We r not doing it now, basically b/c. 1. I am lazy about making juice for us and meals for my kids - lots of work. And 2. It is winter and I crave warm soups. It was also expensive, but that wasn't the biggest stumbling block.
a word of warning, esp for you, my slight-as-a-feather friend.... it is very easy to drop weight with this diet, so eat, or should I say, drink, drink drink! You will need to consume tons of calories... I lost 12 lbs in the first 14 days.... which for me is ok, but not for u. I haven't seen u in awhile, but I doubt you have put on weight.
in closing, maybe I should get back on the juicing.... its always more fun to do something when u know others r with you! I even have other recipes from other books... yum!
    best wishes, Terri

    1. Terri, Thank you for your comment. What did you think of the juice? I really do not mind it too much. I am a little concerned about loosing too much weight, I really do not have much to spare, so I am going to juice when i feel hungry, I really want to do this, I want to feel better and not be so tired all the time.
